One of our most popular cottages on property is The Gulfview. (Some of our guests may remember it as Stones' Throw,) We love that you can see Sunset Beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico from the cottage itself, hence the renaming. It's the closest room to the beach (well, tied with Cabanas 1 and 2) and has the quickest access with a short walk across West Gulf Boulevard.
The Gulfview Cottage is a two-bedroom, two-bath beach bungalow with a living room and kitchen. There are two private entrances (one pictured above and a door leading to the courtyard) along with access to an outdoor shower.
In the Living Room space, there is a coffee table that becomes a dining table as well as a console table that can act as a desk or a bar for eating and working. This cottage offers a TV mounted on the wall with two settees and four dining chairs. The kitchen includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig machine as well as dishes, glasses, utensils and pots and pans. We recommend swinging by the Treasure Island Publix on the way to pick up your vacation groceries or having them delivered via Instacart. (Click the link to check hours.)
The two bedrooms have a similar set up: one queen bed and one day bed to sleep 1-3 per room. All of the beds have new hybrid mattresses (pillow top coil with memory foam) and all white, fresh clean bedding. There are both blinds and linen room darkening curtains on the windows, however these bedrooms facing the beach still get a lot of light. There is both a dresser and a closet in each bedroom as well as an overhead fan to circulate our Florida beach air. Each of the two bathrooms is outfitted with a new pedestal sink and a recently refinished shower stall with a rainfall shower head.
We thoughtfully selected every item you see in each room at Sunset Inn & Cottages. There is original art on the walls and vintage or modern retro touches throughout the property. One of our favorite installments is the vintage acrylic room divider screen we used in the Gulfview bedrooms as accent walls. Originally from the 1940s, we thought it would provide a beautiful filtered light and a little sparkle to the space. We love honoring our 1940s roots while beautifying the cottage!
