The Perfect Weekend Itinerary

2 min read

You likely don't need much convincing to come visit Florida's #2 most beautiful beach (according to USA Today) ... the clear blue gulf water and endless sky has enough stand alone appeal! However, being the Type A friends we are, we thought you may want to hear some additional perks of our neighborhood. Introducing our Weekend itinerary.

1) We are 57 steps from Sunset Beach. Front door to shore. We know it LOOKS fake, but this is an actual unedited image from directly outside of our hotel!

Two striped beach chairs face a calm ocean sunset on a sandy beach, with pastel clouds and a peaceful mood.

2) We are within walking distance to two local music venues. The original Caddy's on Treasure Island offers delicious food and great energy any time of day. It's a local hangout and a tourism fave and somehow manages to balance the two identities without feeling commercial or saturated. For a more lowkey hang, Ka'Tiki is where it's at! Check their monthly calendar to see who's in town and watch a show with the locals before walking back home to Sunset Inn.

Treasure Island/St. Pete itinerary poster shows Caddy’s Waterfront Dining live band performing on a beach stage at sunset.

Tropical thatched-roof tiki bar with American flag, palm trees, and pedestrian crossing sign under a bright blue sky.

3) We now have a pool and cabanas for day rental!! We weathered the last hurricane in 2024, renovated, and came back ready to party. Now our grounds include 4 overnight stay rooms (2 of which are on the second floor and have killer views!) and 4 daily rental cabanas, all facing the new sparkly in-ground heated, private pool! The cabanas have private bathrooms, large screen TVs, wifi, seating, and more. It's the perfect homebase to enjoy your day in Treasure Island.

4) Looking for food and fun nearby? There are so many options but here are a couple of our favorites: Pia's Trattoria in the cute vibrant neighborhood of Gulf Port (a short drive away). Fruit Float Boat is a local business who visits Treasure Island with her fresh tropical fruit - just meet her in the water! Sunken Gardens is a local treasure and a vestige of Old Florida roadside attractions with acres of tropical plants and birds in a beautiful natural setting. Atomic Claw is right around the corner and has arcade claw games and the coolest mid century vibes for hours of fun.

If you're thinking, "wow you guys are lucky to be somewhere so cool," you're right! We are. And you can be, too!

See you soon,

The Cabana Boy

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We acknowledge Sunset Inn & Cottages was built upon First Nations ancestral land of the Seminole, Tocobaga, Miccosukee, and Mascogo communities.

As settlers on their indigenous homeland, we have a duty to recognize them as the original stewards of Treasure Island and beyond.

It is our hope that this land acknowledgment will help empower their voices and inspire others in the community to pursue a stronger, more inclusive, and equitable future for our country.

We seek to educate ourselves while contributing to the local indigenous peoples by raising awareness and learning how to be a better ally against continued colonization.
