A picture is worth a thousand words

Updated: Oct 26, 2022

Here’s a Before & After of the cottage formerly known as MacDill.

Some history: this cottage was formerly used as housing on the MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. This cottage was once a sergeant's quarters but was barged over from MacDill Air Force base after WWII. (The cottage next door, The Coral Lee, shares this history with The Captain.)

Left side: the before in yellow

Right side: the after in blue

Even though we loved the yellow cottage before, we wanted to rebrand it as The Captain to honor its Air Force roots and the bright blue hue just felt a little more regal.

To create a more substantial appearance, we paneled the metal columns with wood planks.

We used color theory for a pop of fun complementary orange and kept the trim and door white so the new paint color stands alone.

Stay tuned to see the interior!
